WELCOME TO KNOXVILLE!
Nestled on the banks of the Tennessee River, and in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Knoxville is a city full of life and culture where you can have both big-city amenities as well as a small-town feel. With its proximity to the mountains, the University of Tennessee, eclectic restaurants and bars, and booming brewery scene, Knoxville has something to offer anyone for a weekend of fun!
THINGS TO DO
- Downtown Knoxville
- While not the largest city in Tennessee, we know that you will fall in love with it as we have! Downtown will be all lit up for Christmas and between downtown’s riverfront, vibrant Market Square, busy Gay Street, and the Historic Old City, a walk downtown will immerse you in Knoxville’s Culture. Visit here!
- Great Smoky Mountains National Park
- From breathtaking views to rewarding hikes, the Great Smoky Mountains hold the title as the most visited National Park for good reason! Visit here!
- Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg
- A mountain getaway just a short, 45-minute drive from Downtown Knoxville. Complete with moonshine tastings, Ripley’s Aquarium, and of course, Dollywood, this area is a favorite for folks near and far!
- The University of Tennessee
- UT has gone from a concrete jungle to a picturesque campus in recent years and is a great place to see what this “college town” is all about. Whether you’re an alumni or a visitor, you’ll find something endearing about campus, but beware, UT is a campus where you will truly walk uphill both to and from class! Visit here!
- Neyland Stadium
- One of the last true coliseums outside of Rome, this beast is the Home of the Vols and boasts a capacity of 102,455. While football season will be over, you may be lucky enough to get a tour of the stadium! To Vols fans, this is hallowed ground and something that all sports fans can appreciate! Visit here!
- University of Tennessee Basketball
- If you’re lucky enough to catch a game while you’re in town, the Basket-Vols would be happy to have you cheer them on in Thompson-Boling Arena located on campus! Visit here!
- Knoxville Ice Bears
- Even in the South, you’ll find hockey! Although it’s not the NHL, you’ll find a rowdy group of fans cheering on the Ice Bears in the Knoxville Civic Coliseum! Visit here!
- Zoo Knoxville
- Red Pandas, Tigers, and Black Bears, Oh My! Consistently ranked one of the nation’s best zoos, thanks to the University of Tennessee’s outstanding Veterinary Department, Zoo Knoxville is a blast for all ages. Especially when they illuminate the park for the holidays! Visit here!
- The Theatre District
- Located on the south end of Gay Street, the Theatre District is where you can find the Tennessee Theatre and the Bijou Theatre! Just east is the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum. All of these welcome a variety of shows and performances year-round!
- TopGolf
- Too cold for a day on the links? New to Knoxville is the national brand TopGolf with its location in West Knoxville! You don’t have to be a pro, just show up and have a good time! Visit here!
