Please join us as we host the annual Summer Advisor Conference!
The Advisor Conference is a day-long training for chapter advisors and house corporations to learn from campus staff, student life professionals, and each other through data-driven discussion and advisor-to-advisor sharing of best practices on supporting our students. This year we are excited to continue to offer opportunities for our House Corporations to be a part of the Advisor Conference.
If you have questions about this conference, please contact the Office of Sorority & Fraternity Life at greeklife@utk.edu

What/Who do I need to bring?
- A binder of materials and pen will be provided during the conference! If you’d like to bring a notebook for additional note taking, that is very common. You should also bring the rest of your advisory board or housing corporation to make the most of the conference – ensure they RSVP!
Is there more than one track at the conference?
- Yes! During the educational sessions, there will be a specific track for housing corporations that will differ from the chapter advisor track.
What if I serve as the chapter advisor AND on the house corporation?
- We highly suggest that you send more than one person to represent the chapter to the advisor conference to get the full experience. There will be many breakout sessions available during the day that one person will not be able to attend alone. If you are the only person advising the chapter, the binder provided by OSFL will be full of information. Contact greeklife@utk.edu or your council advisor specifically if there was a topic or presentation that you wanted to see but were not able to.
What sessions are going to be available during the conference?
- Based on the feedback from previous years as well as a survey sent out in the spring semester, the following topics will be covered in main sessions as well as breakout sessions: state of sorority & fraternity life, UTK master planning, advising generation Z, engaging and recruiting alumni volunteers, campus climate, family engagement, care & resilience, UTPD, student conduct and community standards, community service, SOFE, Title IX, house director & manager training, OSFL policies, and more!
Where do I park?
- The conference will be held in Strong Hall. The best parking will be 16th St. street parking, Vol Hall Parking Garage, and White Ave. Parking Garage
