OSFL Chapter Coaching

Purpose of Chapter Coaching

  1. Support the Office Community Mindset that any member of our team should be able to assist and support all of our students and building relationships beyond the Council Advisors
  2. Expand the support we provide to all of our member organizations by giving direct support to chapter leadership on issues they are working to address
  3. Develop a collective community beyond the individual council by modeling community from a staff perspective
  4. Cross educate chapters, staff on issues and resources from all of the staff within the office to advance the overall community

The Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life believes that strong individual chapter experiences are key to an overall Sorority/Fraternity Life Experience. Historically OSFL’s advising support has been driven from the Councils and Council Advisors. As the office works to support all groups by all members of the staff, the coaching model was adopted. In an effort to better support all of our chapters, we have sought to engage more deeply with our chapters as Organizational Coaches.  Each organization has been assigned an OSFL Staff Member who provides a wealth of experience and resources supporting student organizations. The meetings will focus on Standards of Fraternal Excellence expectations, OSFL/University resources, and community relationship building. As a part of SOFE expectations, Chapter Presidents and the Organization Coach will meet a minimum of 2 times a semester.
