In July, Zeta Tau Alpha held its biennial National Leadership Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. Chapter Delegates Eliza Sorrell, Noelle Correll, Chelsea Ott, and Morgan Shelton represented the University of Tennessee and the UT Panhellenic Community with pride!
The conference theme was “Listen and Lead.” Through large presentations, small groups, and breakout sessions, these women learned how to be better leaders by listening. They started the weekend by taking the Leadership Practices Inventory and learning how to use their leadership strengths in their roles. They also heard from phenomenal National speakers like Tina VanSteenbergen and Ross Szabo. Both Tina and Ross used their engaging personality to teach them about empathy and understanding others’ storie
s. In small groups, the women practiced active listening, giving and receiving feedback, understanding empathy and how to use it when holding women accountable. They also were introduced to another My Sister My Responsibility program that ZTA will roll out this fall-Generation Rx.
During the Conference, the UT chapter earned the Crown Chapter Award, which is ZTA’s standards program for recognizing excellence in recruitment, programming, financial health, reporting, and cooperation with the ZTA Fraternity. They were also recognized as major donors for their philanthropic efforts with Big Man On Campus.
