Phi Mu sprung into the spring season alongside UT’s FUTURE Program. On March 24, 2017, Phi Mu joined with FUTURE students for a day filled with laughs, music, and painting flower pots that they later filled with seeds in anticipation of beautiful flowers. FUTURE is a two-year program that allows students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to attend The University of Tennessee and enroll in academic classes, as well as have career counseling to aid in the development of important life skills. Many of Phi Mu’s members were greeted with familiar faces because of their continuing involvement in assisting the FUTURE students. Those of them who were not as familiar with the students were able to walk away with new friendships that they hope will continue to grow and bloom.
